There is a reason why Florida is called the sunshine state. All year round sunshine makes the State of Florida an ideal destination for many reasons. It is a golfers paradise with some of the best 5 star golf resorts and courses in the world. Sawgrass Marriott Resort and Spa needs no introduction as it is the home of the “Players Championship”. To further strengthen the list of fantastic gold resorts there is the PGA National Resort and Spa home of the American PGA and host of many international tournaments. To add to this, there is also Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge with its 27 holes and superb facilities just seven miles from Disney World. Innisbrook A Salamander Resort is perfect for family vacations with golf as a bonus. Miami also offers the tropical paradise that you will find at Trump National Doral Miami Resort with its 650 acres of tropical plantation. All five resorts are up there with the best the world has to offer. The standards in accommodation, service and, condition of the courses really is unbelievable.

Myrtle Beach in South Carolina is a great destination for golfers of all abilities as it boasts a wide range of golf courses within a forty-minute drive of the centre. Where else in the world can you find that? The golf resort at Marina Inn at Grand Dunes is a luxury resort with an 18-hole championship golf course. There is the Myrtlewood Golf Villas complex which offers self-catering apartments set around two championship 18 hole golf courses and only minutes away from the bars, restaurants and nightclubs of the renowned Broadway at the Beach. In the same vicinity is the three star Fairfield Inn – Broadway at the Beach where you can stay and book whatever courses you wish to tick off your bucket list. A must play course is the Myrtle Beach National Kings North G.C. which is fantastic with water hazards and white sand bunkers. This was designed originally by Arnold Palmer and situated in an untouched pine forest, making this course an absolute must. River Hill is another great course in a forest environment with outstanding challenges, which adds to the immense enjoyment that this course can serve you. If its water you like to test you iron accuracy then the River Club Golf Club has so much to offer.

California is another destination known for its year round warm sunshine. There are magnificent golf courses, from San Francisco all the way down to San Diego in the South following a coastline for 840 miles. One of the best resorts is the luxury five star resort of Pebble Beach with its four courses – Spyglass Hill, Poppy Hills, Spanish Bay and the famous Pebble Beach Links Course. The whole resort including accommodation is absolutely world class. The best time to play at this resort is from April – October if you are thinking of playing the Links Course you will need to book 9 months in advance.

Palm Springs is nestled in amongst the San Jacinto Mountains and is home to many world-class championship golf courses with accommodation to match. La Quinta Resort and Club-La Quinta has two championship courses with another three at PGA West including the world famous TPC PGA West Stadium. This resort is absolute paradise with golf, swimming and tennis all available to take part in.

Palm Mountain Resort and Spa is ideally positioned for shopping on Palm Canyon Drive in the centre of Palm Springs. Using this resort as a base will allow access to not only great golf courses but also the quaint shopping outlets at Mercado Plaza. The nearby courses include the 18-hole championship course at TPC Stadium at PGA West Golf Course. Designed by Peter Dye its signature hole is the 17th named “Alcatraz” which is an island hole, giving golfers plenty to think about when they consider the safest shot to play. Other courses to play include championship courses at Westin Mission Hill which is a Gary Player course and The Westin Mission Hill – Dye Resort and Golf Course.

San Diego has wall-to-wall sunshine all year with an average temperature of 70f. The scenery is fantastic, as are the golf courses and resorts. Torrey Pines Golf Club has two championship courses known as The North and The South. Both have been used to host the Farmers Insurance Open where the world’s best players compete. San Diego is home to many world class courses.
