Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa
The Chiang Mai Highlands Golf Club opened in 2005, significantly improving the quality of Chiang Mai’s golf courses. The road from Chiang Mai to the Highlands winds through scenic countryside, passing rice fields and farmlands before ascending into the mountains in an easterly direction.
The Championship Golf Course Layout is being built on the ‘power spot,’ Kuba Sivichai’s hermitage (the admired monk who founded the famous Doi Suthep Temple). This website is stunning in every way. Its serenity, high altitude, cooler climate, clean air, pure water, and rich soil make it an ideal location for the 27-hole layout.
This course is highly recommended by golfers of all abilities and has been voted as one of the best value golf courses in the region.
The course was designed by Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design in the United States, who also designed Mission Hills, Amata Spring, and Siam CC. Chiangmai Highlands has already catapulted into the international golf scene as one of the best-golfing experiences in Asia after only two years of operation. Since then, this wonderful resort has received a slew of accolades. This incredible powerhouse of a resort was voted the #3 ‘Best New Golf Course in Asia’ by Asian Golf Monthly in 2007. Chiang Mai Highlands was named the ‘Best Value for Money Golf Course in Asia’ by the same publication in 2013, and the ‘Best Golf Resort in Asia’ in 2015.
A Thai-style clubhouse with a casual atmosphere and all amenities provides entertainment before or after a round of golf. The dressing rooms are simple but adequate. The Resort has a well-kept practice facility that includes several practice greens, a short play area, and a 300-yard grass tee driving range. For those who want to stay in the countryside and play multiple rounds at the Chiang Mai Highlands, there is a small on-site Thai resort with private villas.
We Recommend also playing at the nearby Alpine Golf Resort for a trip to Thailand to remember,
