How to Get to Thailand: Flights and Entry Requirements

Direct flights operate from London Heathrow to Bangkok with Thai Airways and British Airways, typically taking 11–13 hours. One-stop routes via Dubai, Doha and Singapore offer excellent value and frequent connections from Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham. Flights to Phuket and Chiang Mai usually require one stop.

Visa Requirements for UK Travellers

UK passport holders receive a 30-day visa-free stay on arrival. Extensions can be arranged locally if you are staying longer, and it is always worth checking the latest entry requirements before travelling.

Best Times to Play Golf

The best season for golf in Thailand is November to March for warm, dry conditions. April to May and September to October offer excellent value. June to October is off-peak, with greener fairways and fewer crowds, while Phuket and Pattaya experience heavier rainfall during this period.

What Are the Best Golf Regions in Thailand?

Thailand’s most popular golf regions are Hua Hin, Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok. Hua Hin is known for its championship layouts, Phuket for its beachside courses, Pattaya for its variety and nightlife, and Bangkok for easy access and excellent conditioning.

Can I Play Championship Courses in Thailand?

Yes. Thailand is home to several award-winning courses including Black Mountain, Red Mountain, Banyan and Siam Country Club. These courses regularly feature in Asia’s Top 100 rankings and are highlights of most Thailand golf itineraries.

Robin’s resort pick: Amari Hua Hin makes a comfortable base for a relaxed Hua Hin holiday. It suits groups who want time by the coast alongside rounds at courses such as Black Mountain and Pineapple Valley.

Robin’s course pick: Black Mountain is the round I would prioritise in Hua Hin. We can balance it with other courses to suit your group’s preferred pace and level of golf.

What your Thailand golf week could look like

Start with one region and give yourself time to enjoy it. Here is one way to spend seven nights with four rounds; we will choose the hotel, courses and free days around your group. It is an example, not the inclusions of every offer above.

Days 1–2 · Arrive and settle in

Travel to your chosen base, then begin with a round selected for your group. Leave the first evening free to enjoy the hotel and local restaurants.

Days 3–4 · Your headline golf

Play one of the courses you came for, then take a day at your own pace: beach, spa, markets, temples or simply time together.

Days 5–6 · Golf and discovery

Enjoy a third round and keep a day open for an experience that suits where you are staying, from local food to northern culture.

Days 7–8 · Finish your way

Play a final round, enjoy a last evening at your resort and travel home. We will plan the golf around your flight times.

More than a round of golf

The setting changes the feel of the holiday. Pattaya offers a sociable coastal base, while Hua Hin makes room for quieter evenings by the sea. In Chiang Mai, golf can sit alongside the old city, food markets and northern scenery.

Tell us what everyone in the group enjoys, including guests who will not play. We can leave proper time for the destination rather than fill every day with tee times.

One base, or a considered route

A single stay in Hua Hin, Pattaya or Chiang Mai keeps the holiday easy. If you want more variety, we can discuss a longer route, a Phuket island stay or a short Bangkok stop.

We will allow for the extra journey when combining regions, so the travel feels worthwhile.

Make the holiday yours

Choose the hotel style, the courses you most want to play and how much free time to leave between rounds. We can arrange flights from your preferred UK airport and the ground travel that suits your route.

Your personal quote will spell out the details: accommodation and board basis, named rounds, tee times, airport and golf transfers, golf club carriage, caddie and cart arrangements, and any tips or fees payable locally. Check each featured offer above for what its displayed starting price includes.

Good to know before you go

How do we reach the different golf regions?

Bangkok is the usual international gateway for a Hua Hin or Pattaya holiday; both regions are reached from there by road. Chiang Mai is served by its own airport, usually with a connecting flight from the UK. Phuket flight options depend on your dates and departure airport. We will build the onward journey into your quote.

Are caddies, carts and transfers included?

Arrangements vary between courses and offers. Your quote will confirm the caddie and cart fees included, which transfers are arranged and whether any caddie tips are payable locally. We will also check golf club carriage against your chosen flights.

When should we travel?

November to March is a popular period for Thailand golf, but conditions and rates vary between regions and months. Tell us your preferred dates and whether weather, value or course availability matters most; we will recommend a suitable base and playing schedule.

What should UK travellers check before departure?

Entry rules can change. Travellers should check the latest UK government advice for Thailand, including passport and visa requirements. Thailand also requires foreign visitors to complete its Digital Arrival Card online before arrival.

Plan the Thailand trip that suits your group

Tell us your preferred region, courses, travel month and group size. We will bring the golf, hotel, flights and time away from the course together in a clear personal quote.
