Firstly, Dubai is renown the world over for its outstanding feats of engineering and its first-class quality golf courses. The latest addition to this exceptional Dubai golf holiday destination portfolio is the Dubai Hills golf club.

In November 2018 Troon Golf opened its doors on its latest world-class design. The site was the Dubai Hills Estate located within the new Mohammed Bin Rashid City of Dubai (another Emaar development). The golf course itself is the centrepiece to a whole brand new community of the high-class and luxury living.

The designer of the golf course itself is Gary Johnson of European Golf Design. With Troon’s backing, he created a masterpiece with a corridor style layout. Frequent changes in direction from hole to hole, the aim to keep each hole as the focal point making the next hole a big reveal.

Following all of the hype of the course before opening, Dubai Hills did not disappoint. It soon marched up through the rankings and was voted the 2019 Best New Golf Course in the World.

This 18 Hole Championship layout is impressive in its design, and the condition is unsurpassed year-round. The Signature hole is par 4 485 yards (from the back tees) the “wow” moment reveals the dramatic Dubai skyline. Ultimately revealing the world’s tallest building in the Burj Khalifa. The hole itself is slightly uphill and very reachable in two, providing you carefully negotiate your driving to avoid the sizeable central bunker.

Overall, ss with many things, Dubai conjures up so many great one-off designs, and this golf course is yet another, and one that will surely only improve with age.
