River Bend Golf Course
This 18 hole par 72 golf course sits North of Daytona at Ormond Beach. The golf course has been designed to take in and use the natural environment around giving a very natural flow to the course. With four par 3’s and four par 5’s, a great test of golf for golfers of all abilities.
A Lloyd Clifton championship design tucked away in 300 wooded acres along the Tomoka River is the River Bend Golf Club at Ormond Beach just north of Daytona which provides a peaceful, secluded golf setting. The Tomoka is recognized as one of the outstanding waters of Florida and a “Aquatic Preserve”-a Manatee sanctuary. Significant wetlands along the course show the dedication of the property to protecting the ecosystem.
River Bend is just a stones through from the Tomoka River but doesn’t really bring the body of water into play, tempting golfers with tree-lined fairways instead. On only one hole, water comes into play-the 17th, a 139-yard par 3 with a pond facing the green-which is rare for a coastline course, but River Bend puts a focus on the perspective of the golfer. The narrow fairways require accuracy and a successful day should really be enjoyed by players who find the short grass. While the tee shot on 17 is the most nerve-wracking shot of the course, No. 8 is the hole about which groups leave the course to discussing. The Par 5 is among Florida’s longest and trickiest holes.
A Great Championship golf course to play on your next Floridan Golf Holiday
