Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort

The Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort opened in 1996 and was designed by golf architect Peter Thompson. The course is one of the most popular choices in Chiang Mai and offers golfers of all abilities to the opportunity to play and enjoy it. The golf course is slightly further out than some courses around forty minutes from the city center, with stunning scenery the course is quite hilly and set high enough in the mountains that it is cooler than most to play. A popular choice with golfers of all abilities.

Set within a valley and surrounded by mountains, the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club & Resort is a course of beautiful landscapes that includes waterfalls, streams and an abundance of landscapes. The Chiangmai Golf Course is located on the site of an old fruit orchard and, as such, had some of the most plentiful varieties of trees found on any golf course in Thailand. Thousands of flowering trees with distinct fragrances and colours dot each hole of the championship layout. The relatively high Chiang Mai altitude provides a relatively cool, less humid climate, clear air, and light breeze. There is a wide range of wildlife, including several local bird species.

All 18 holes merge well together to present a formidable challenge in natural surroundings. There is a spectacular view from the clubhouse after the round. Although the clubhouse has seen better days and not the highlight of the golf course, it has a range of facilities including a golfer’s veranda. There’s even an on-site golf resort, although it caters more to locals than to international visitors.
