PGA National The Fazio
The Fazio is the re-design & reinvention of The Haig The Original 18-hole course that opened in 1980. The Haig was designed by George and Tom Fazio in tribute to five-time PGA champion Walter Hagen, and its renovation was led by third-generation designer Tom Fazio II, who emphasized modernizing the course layout making it more player-friendly and allowing players to play from the front tee-boxes at around 5,100 yards making it a more playable course for players of all abilities.
Although the Fazio is one of the shortest courses on the PGA National Resort, It can be made tricky by wayward tee shots. Precision is key to scoring well here. The greens are fast and true and actually quite large in comparison to the other courses on the resort.
It goes without saying that most travelling golfers come here to play the infamous “bear Trap” however for those looking for a longer trip and perhaps can escape away for a week of golfing adventures we would highly recommend playing all five of the fabulous golf courses on offer here at the PGA National Resort.
