Kiawah Island Turtle Point

Three of the Atlantic Ocean holes on this course were built to assist as buffers for loggerhead breeding areas — hence the name Turtle Point. Honored almost flawless 4.5 stars in the 2006 Golf Digest ‘s Best Places to Play Golf Guidebook, Turtle Point is a truly inspirational course to play.

The 7,061-yard Jack Nicklaus course launched in 1981, then underwent restoration work and achieved an incredible new coaching facility and informal clubhouse in 2000 and 2001. Turtle Point hosted the 1990 PGA Cup Matches and provides a fantastic layout that is always in extremely good condition.

Turtle Point at Kiawah Island is the course Jack Nicklaus designed for every golfer to think ahead before taking a club from your bag. It is the golf course than is traditional in its design and consequently many golfers would rather it over any other. with its narrow fairways, small greens, and strategically placed bunkers the course is set-up always to be a challenge. This golf course calls for accuracy all-around not just off the tee-boxes… It is in fact one of the longest courses on the island so it is imperative that your long irons are as good as your short irons. A game of great golf we highly recommend and one every golfer should try to experience.

Turtle Point Course is a great option for your hidden gem round of golf and a perfect destination for you and your friends when traveling to Johns Island.

Kiawah Island is a great and memorable golfing adventure; a breathtaking location, a wonderful heritage, and five great golf courses are the motives as to why so many aficionado golfers make a pilgrimage to this remarkable South Carolina sanctuary.

Not for the faint-hearted, fantastic test of course and beautiful with it too!
