Opened in 1991, Vila Sol Golf Course is a prestigious 27-hole complex located near Vilamoura. Designed by the esteemed British architect Donald Steel, the course was carved through a vast estate of umbrella pines, fig trees, and cork oaks. It quickly established its pedigree by hosting the Portuguese Open in 1992 and 1993, cementing its reputation as a true championship venue.

The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: Prime, Challenge, and Prestige. The Prime and Challenge nines combine to form the traditional 18-hole championship layout, a par-72 test that demands accuracy off the tee to navigate the narrow, tree-lined fairways.
