Praia D’El Rey Golf Course
The Praia D’El Rey golf course is located an hour north of Lisbon on the Costa de Prata, close to the walled medieval city of Obidos. Because of its convenient location, guests can visit Lisbon and Obidos as well as play a round of golf at one of the area’s four courses.
Cabell B. Robinson, an American architect, designed the 18-hole golf course, which opened for play on June 14, 1997. The course is a par-72 that plays to a total of 7,100 yards. It was voted the third best golf course in Portugal by World Golf Magazine in 2004, and it’s easy to see why. Robinson mentioned how the natural land on the site was the type of landscape architects try to create, and it’s clear the Americans took full advantage of it with the layout he designed.
