Saddlebrook Championship Golf Course
Saddlebrook Golf club opened its doors in the mid-1990s and was one of the first championships golf courses in the region. Popularity for golf boomed around this tie and by 1986 the course received a re-designed and renovation. Arnold Palmer and his team came in and completely re-designed the course with tree-lined undulating sloping fairways, with greens closely guarded by white sand bunkers. It was at this time that the Palmer course was also added making both courses in this region a must play.
As you make the journey to the green fairways set in a duvet of cypress and oak, the unique features of Par 70 Saddlebrook Course will take you back in time to the Florida of the Conquistadors. This feeling is magnified by the signature hole, the 425-yard 18th. The tee shot must be positioned down an emerald landing area between the stands of the hulking cypress trees, whose branches are decorated with Spanish moss, fluttering softly in the breeze. The luscious green of the fairway frames three white-faced bunkers on the landing area. The soft afternoon sunlight shines softly out of the profound pond in front of the green, where gators and turtles rest on the bank.
The Championship golf course is both longer and tighter than the neighboring Palmer course and one to add to the bucket list of tremendous golf in the Tampa Region of Florida.
