Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III GC, was redesigned and reconstructed in 2006 by Davis Love III, the very first golf course to be built on Hilton Head Island.  With a beachfront / Lowcountry location, it benefits from fantastic views out across the sea and back across the marshland, woodlands of the Lowcountry.  It incorporates elements of the surrounding beachfront and the area’s bounty of native pines and oaks lining the fairways. A favourite amongst local golf course owners and residents at the Sea Pines Resort.

Atlantic Dunes advantages both aesthetically and creatively from the reconstruction of organic sand dunes and the development of new dunes that seamlessly blends further into the layout. Significant numbers of native plants have been planted in these areas to make the seaside feel complete, while the fairways are a combination of cutting-edge grasses that match the superior strains of The Sea Pines Resort’s two other well-known courses.

As for par-3 15th — and the only one of two oceanfront holes in all of Hilton Head has been strengthened. Love brought up the tee as well as the green, making the hole windier and more challenging. And the Instagram-worthy viewpoints of the Atlantic make the signature hole memorable.
