Harbour Town Links Review

The Pete Dye layout, positioned on Hilton Head Island situated on the southern tip of South Carolina and just north of Savannah, joins Kiawah Island and TPC Sawgrass as a trio of the world’s best public courses. These courses portray most of Pete Dye’s most widely known work to give the general public a chance to play championship standard golf where the pros play on tour. Harbour Town’s signature feature is a red and white lighthouse positioned just beyond the eighteenth green, which sends the message of the closeness of the course to the ocean and the capacity of high winds to blow and waft through the course.

The RBC is always Played the week after the Masters. It’s a favourite venue for European players to relax and enjoy after the slog of Augusta’s greens.

The Harbour Town Golf Links challenges even the finest golfers and has been highly rated by Golf Digest and other leading golf magazines. It’s a true test of golfing skills and a course that rewards good shots. The greens are small, so accuracy is key. But you also have to avoid the many bunkers and water hazards.

If you don’t hit it straight, you might want to consider leaving your driver in the bag for many of your rounds. Tall tree-lined fairways are not the only scorecard wreckers in the surrounding landscape.  There are also well-placed bunkers, waste areas and many water hazards to avoid.  Finally, make sure to take enough golf balls to play this bucket list golf course.

The RBC Heritage Golf Tournament

The RBC Heritage Tournament is the annual PGA Tour event that is hosted at Harbour Town Golf Links. The tournament’s headquarters and main clubhouse is at the Harbour Town Golf Links Resort. This is where you can find spectators, fans, and golfers who are busy enjoying the beautiful course and enjoying the amenities of Harbour Towne Resort. Be sure to make plans for your trip around the RBC Heritage Tournament dates (usually in April).
